Women Cell – National Sanskrit University The Women Cell of National Sanskrit University is established with the aim of empowering women on the campus and creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all female students, faculty, and staff. The Cell works to promote gender equality, protect women’s rights, and provide guidance whenever needed. The Women Cell helps women recognize their abilities, build confidence, and participate actively in academic and professional fields. It also serves as a platform where grievances or concerns can be shared in a confidential and respectful manner.
Objectives of the Women Cell
  • To ensure a safe and secure campus environment for women.
  • To support female students and staff in addressing issues related to discrimination, harassment, or any personal concern.
  • To promote gender equality through awareness programmes and sensitization activities.
  • To encourage women to enhance their personal and professional skills.
  • To provide a platform for guidance, counseling, and assistance.

Functions of the Women Cell

  • Support & Guidance: Providing counseling, assistance, and support for women facing challenges related to harassment, discrimination, mental stress, or personal issues.
  • Awareness Programmes: Organizing seminars, workshops, orientations, and campaigns on topics like gender sensitization, women’s rights, legal awareness, and health & hygiene.
  • Skill Development: Conducting training programmes to improve leadership skills, communication skills, self-defense, and career development.
  • Policy Support: Supporting and recommending gender-sensitive policies in the university for admissions, recruitment, safety, and grievance redressal.
  • Collaboration: Working with government bodies, NGOs, and expert organizations to bring awareness, training, and support services to the university.
  • Research & Documentation: Encouraging studies, surveys, and documentation on issues related to women on campus to help in planning better policies.
  • Celebration & Recognition: Organizing events to highlight the achievements and contributions of women in academics, sports, arts, and other fields.
  • Safety Measures: Ensuring preventive measures such as complaint mechanisms, awareness on anti-harassment guidelines, and promoting safe campus practices.
