A Mega Plantation Drive for a Greener Future

In a remarkable display of commitment to environmental sustainability, National Sanskrit University,Tirupati on 9th August 2023 embarked on a transformative journey with its Mega Plantation Drive, a university-wide initiative aimed at rejuvenating the ecosystem and fostering a greener future. The programme was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS). This endeavour brought together students, faculty, and staff in an inspiring display of unity and shared purpose.

At 8:30am, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof GSR Krishnamurthy, Registrar Challa Venkateshwar (Retd), Coordinator of the Programme Dr S.Vaishnavi, around 150 volunteers, all program officers, NSS coordinator Dr Chandulal assembled at the south Gate and planted saplings of different kinds around the University. The chief guest of the Programme was Smt S Lakshmi, Secretary, TUDA emphasized the protection of the environment and motivated the volunteers. The Vice Chancellor of the University quoted several examples from various Ancient Indian texts to relate environmental sustainability to the gathering. Refreshments were provided to the volunteers.
